“Embawood” MMC, which has always supported the development of equestrian sports in Azerbaijan, will now participate in competitions with its own Chovkan team. The “Embawood” Chovkan team consists of 5 players and 7 Karabakh horses.

Azerbaijan is one of the countries where equestrianism has developed since ancient times. It is no coincidence that Karabakh horses are famous worldwide for their beauty, strong physique, and agility. Chovkan, a traditional horseback game, originated and evolved in Azerbaijan from ancient times and continues to this day. Since 2013, the game of Chovkan has been included in UNESCO’s List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding.

It should be noted that to promote the widespread popularity of ancient national horseback games, develop equestrian sports, and support national horse breeding, “Embawood” has previously supported tournaments in Chovkan as well as other equestrian disciplines.
