Dear followers,
Furniture is defined as movable equipment created to provide comfort in a person’s home or workplace. Furniture can be used for resting, sleeping, or storing items. The concept of furniture first appeared between 3100 and 2500 BCE. During the Neolithic period, wood was not easily accessible, so the first household items were made from stone. Cabinets, display cases, and beds were among the earliest forms of furniture.
According to research, cabinets and display cases were considered the most important pieces of furniture at that time because they were used in Neolithic homes to showcase symbolic items and carved artworks. Over the years, people began to use more modern furniture both for daily functionality and as works of art to please the eye, just like in the Neolithic era. In modern life, with a greater focus on comfort and luxury, materials and durability have become stronger and longer-lasting, yet the basic design of most furniture has remained the same. Armchairs, for example, evolved not only to provide seating but also to include rocking functions as a means of relaxation. The evolution of furniture design reflects the progression of our society from a simple way of life toward a more luxurious and privileged lifestyle.
